The Marlin Alliance, Inc is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer with extensive experience in Systems-of-Systems (SoS) engineering, Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), operational planning, and complex defense systems. The ideal candidate has a proven ability to integrate quickly into diverse teams and deliver high-quality outcomes through analytic rigor, creativity, and decisive leadership. This role requires deep familiarity with naval operations, C4I systems, undersea warfare, intelligence disciplines, and engineering processes across the full system lifecycle.
Established in 2002, The Marlin Alliance is seeking to hire highly skilled individuals to support mission critical projects within the Navy. We are looking for motivated individuals to lead and support digital transformation, data science and analytics, and automation projects for variety of Navy clients. Individuals must be able to function in a fast-paced work environment and able to adapt quickly to rapidly changing requirements and technologies. Using your comprehensive knowledge of various technologies, you will design, develop, and implement solutions to support Navy mission owners in their digital transformation journey.

Responsibilities:
- Systems Engineering & Technical Leadership
- Lead cross-functional engineering teams to design, baseline, and field complex C4I and undersea warfare systems.
- Develop and manage system requirements, configurations, and technical documentation, aligned with DoDAF and other standards.
- Support system interface management, human-system integration, and field engineering activities across multiple operational sites.
- Assist program managers and leadership in creating policy, processes, and technical standards.
- Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) & Systems-of-Systems
- Lead development, design, and integration of MBSE products, ontologies, schemas, and processes to support enterprise-wide system commonality and interoperability.
- Provide strategic recommendations on MBSE adoption and implementation for large defense organizations, including Systems Commands and program offices.
- Ensure availability, reliability, and accessibility of common modeling environments and related infrastructure.
- Operational Expertise & Military Systems
- Conduct all-source analysis and technical assessments in support of fleet and combatant command decision-making.
- Analytics & Engineering Support
- Utilize experience in modeling and simulation and data analytics to inform system design and operational concepts.
- Provide hardware engineering insight informed by engineering qualifications.
Required Skills and Experience:
- 10 or more years' experience as a submarine naval officer/TUSWC naval operations.
- Lead development, design, and integration of MBSE products, ontologies, schemas, and processes to support enterprise-wide system commonality and interoperability.
- Maritime Operations Center experience.
- Strong analytical, decisive, and detail-oriented problem-solver with the ability to think creatively and strategically.
- Demonstrated leadership and management capability across technical and operational teams.
- Systems Thinking expert with experience integrating complex systems in dynamic environments.
- Effective communicator able to bridge operational, technical, and executive audiences.
Education and Certification Requirements:
- Master's degree in engineering, or related field or equivalent experience
- INCOSE certification a plus but not required
Travel:
- Up to 30% of travel is required.
